We Are GR School News
Good Things Happen to Readers will celebrate its fourth year on November 8, 2017. Through a generous gift from an anonymous benefactor, each 1st grade student, 1,750 in all, will receive their own copy of the recently published book, After the Fall, by Dan Santat.
For the second year in a row, Grand Rapids Public Schools saw schools removed from the state's Priority Schools list - further evidence of the momentum and success of the GRPS Transformation Plan.
The T2C Studio is proud to announce it has served its 1000th student within one year of being launched. The T2C Studio offers an array of navigation services including college application, scholarship searches, workshops, and personal one-on-one advising, primarily to Grand Rapids Public School students, first-generation college students, and persons of color. Bryan Navarro, our 1000th student, contacted the T2C Studio seeking college assistance after receiving a flyer about the T2C Studio at his high school graduation rehearsal. Specifically, Navarro was interested in obtaining assistance regarding enrollment at Grand Rapids Community College (GRCC) and learning more about the difference between a college degree and a certification.
